Instructions for Using a Butcher Paper Cutter

Butcher paper usually comes in a large heavy roll. It’s then loaded onto its roll holder and cutter where you can section of useful amounts whenever you may need it. Using a butcher paper cutter can be easy and can be mastered within a few minutes if you follow these instructions.
1.       Get assistance from another person and load the butcher paper roll onto the holder. You will need assistance because butcher paper rolls can be very heavy. Slide the paper onto the rod so that the roll will feed paper over the top of itself. Secure the roll in place by snapping the end of the rod onto the roll.
2.       Pull the sheet of paper under the metal arm, as you would lay your arm on the table. The arm should be resting on top of the flap so you may pull as much of the paper as you would like to tear away.
3.       Determine how much paper you need and pull out the necessary length. The paper should come out smoothly and the metal arm should keep tension on the roll.
4.       Use an upward motion to tear the paper along the metal bar from the right-hand side. For an even tear use a fast smooth motion. Do not pull the roll forwards as though you are pulling more paper, but instead hold the paper at a 75-degree angle upwards and lift your right hand higher until the corner begins to tear. Continue to pull the paper all the way across until there is a smooth and even tear on the large sheet of paper.
5.       Be ready for the next use by pulling out a small tab of the butcher paper.
